Remember the Patriots? They looked like they were in troubled waters at the beginning of last season. They lost former Superbowl MVP reciever Deion Branch because of his contract holdout, and it looked like the dynasty that terrorized the AFC east was over. Then again, that was back when the Dolphins were a trendy Superbowl pick.
The Patriots looked weak. But they were only one game away from a 4th superbowl. Now, they are joined by Adalius Thomas, who has been hailed as the most versatile defensive player in the league.
The next free agent move is an attempt to acquire reciever Wes Welker from the dolphins. If you're not a Pats fan, things aren't looking good. Chances are, if the Patriots had just one of these players last season they would have made it to the big game.
Barring any key injuries, the Patriots are going to have a great chance at being Superbowl champions in '08.
