Fed-rExed?

Could the Bears be sending Rex Grossman to another team? Though there isn't much talk about it, a move would make sense. Grossman has one year left on his contract and no guarantee of an extension after schotty play in the last quarter of Superbowl XLI. Plus, Chicago fans of 'Sexy Rexy' seem to be in the minority.

Fans have been calling for Greise to start since the preseason. Chicago could draft a young quarterback like Michigan State's Drew Stanton (it's not like they need to draft anyone on defense right away) in the first round, and have Griese ride the defense to another NFC North title. If Grossman has a future in this league, the best way to establish it is with a fresh start.

There are alot of places Rex could go. Those four spectacular 100+ QB rating games this season could be attractive to teams struggling with regularly medicore Quarterbacks like Houston and Cleveland. The upside to Grossman is they could probably get him relatively cheap when compared to more sought-after posibilities like Matt Schaub and Jake Plummer. We'll have to see what develops.
