Free Agent Friday - 5 Things I Would Like To See

Friday, March 2nd will be the start of the Free Agency Period. The transactions that occur will play a key role in shaping the draft, and lay the foundation for new tandems for the highlight reel. Here are 5 things I wouldn't mind reading on the sports ticker:

5. Matt Schaub is traded to be a viable starter. The '06 season was riddled with Schaub chatter. Vick completely fell apart after his impressive streak of touchdowns through the air, and went back to his own 'I will win the game myself' strategy. We saw the results. Almost every single analyst loves Matt Schaub. It's time to see what he can do, and with the possibility of him playing in Minnesota, how can one not want this to happen?

4. Randy Moss gets traded. Yes, yes, I know this could be regrettable, considering I've thought about the possibility of 84-yard touchdown passes floating into Moss' outstreched arms via JaMarcus Russell, but I am not quite sure Randy will ever play like everyone wants him to in Oakland. The mumurs of Moss becoming a compliment to Donald Driver is enough to make any fantasy football fan freak out. I'm starting to hear "FARVE....TO MOSS!" in my head...if only...

3. Michael Turner gets a chance to be the workhorse. Turner, who probably won't stick around in San Diego, has a monstorous 6.28 YPC average this past season. Of course, "The Burner" was often used as a changeup after defenses were beaten senseless by LaDanian Tomlinson, so this number should be high. I am an advocate of great backups like Turner (and NYG's Brandon Jacobs) being given the chance to take the reigns as every-down backs, so his signing with a team such as The New York Jets would be an early birthday present.

2. T.O. gets cut by the Cowboys. Given that Jerry Jones has expressed he wants Terrell "I am allowed to bitch at everyone even though I drop every third ball thrown to me" Owens back, this is a stretch. But, Owens is owed a $5 million bonus this season, and given the fact that he has had yet another operation on his finger (which is kind of important when your career involves catching things), it wouldn't be out of the blue. Still, this is a list of things i'd LIKE to see, and not what will likely happen.

1. The Steelers snag Cato June. Yes, it is very biased for the Steelers fan to put his interests first, but the boys in black and gold need a good OLB. June will add leadership and make plays to a team that needed both last year.
