'Poz I Said So

I'm not quite sure what I would do if the Steelers use the number 15 pick overall to select Penn State Linebacker Paul Posluszny as their first round draft choice. I would have to change pants, at least, because I would wet them in joy.

It was regrettable to see Joey Porter get cut, and insult to injury when he landed $20 million guaranteed by signing with the Dolphins. But landing Happy Valley's tackle machine - that would make it all worth it.

Joey Porter - who was supposedly cut for financial reasons - made his bed. And now he'll lie in it. (The bed is made of money, and located in Miami) Though he was a victim of the salary cap, the fact that he had to be talked out of a holdout during last season's training camp, and drew several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties didn't help his case to stay with the black and Gold.

Enter Posluszny - a product of Penn State (Bias alert), where players don't even have their names on their jerseys. That's where you'll get your character guys. Plus, where better to get your new linebacker but from "Linebacker U"?

Poz, as he is casually referred to, is, in short, the shit. A winner of both the Bednarik and Butkus awards, he made over 375 tackles during his collegiate career. Jack Ham called him the greatest linebacker to ever play at Penn State.

Porter's departure leaves a noticeable hole in a once universally feared defense. If Posluszny falls to 15, the Steelers have to take him.
